WIQD Welcomes Marisa Monteiro Borsboom to Executive Board

We are proud to announce that Marisa Monteiro Borsboom has joined the WIQD Executive Board. As a leading voice in quantum policy, legal innovation, and technological ethics, Marisa brings an interdisciplinary perspective to our mission of building a more inclusive quantum ecosystem.

A seasoned legal professional and advocate for emerging technologies, Marisa has made major contributions to the development of ethical quantum governance. Through her work with the Quantum Policy Academy and CEPS Task Forces, including those on Quantum Technologies and Cybersecurity and Strengthening the EU Transition to a Quantum Safe World, she has helped shape Europe’s approach to quantum regulation and digital sovereignty.

Currently serving as Chief Legal Officer and Global Board Member at Women in Tech Global, Marisa is a champion for diversity and inclusion in tech. She also leads Verae Legal as CEO and General Counsel, spearheading innovation in legal practice and digital rights. Her roles as co-founder of Inov@legal, contributor to Legal Hackers in Oporto and The Hague, and board member at European Legal Tech Association further illustrate her impact on the tech-legal ecosystem.

As President of the Humanity of Things Agency, Marisa works to ensure that digital human rights remain at the center of technological advancement. Her vision aligns deeply with WIQD’s core values of diversity, equity and inclusion.
