This year, we are happy to introduce our new initiative – WIQD Awards. In this way, we want to recognise individuals and groups who are helping build a more inclusive, supportive, and impactful quantum ecosystem.

This year, we present awards in three categories:

• Community Impact Award – for individuals/groups (including allies) who contribute to the quantum community beyond their formal role, through activities such as mentorship, advocacy, volunteering, or initiatives that support underrepresented groups and foster collaboration and belonging.
• Inclusive Leader in Quantum Award – for leaders in academia, industry, or policy who actively create inclusive, supportive, and socially safe environments, and who use their position to drive positive cultural change in quantum.
• Talent in Quantum Award – for outstanding Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD students showing strong promise and inclusive values. This could include academic promise, curiosity, initiative, or engagement beyond coursework.

The Awards ceremony will take place during our Annual Symposium on 09/06!
