Announcing Our Rebrand: From Women to We in Quantum Development
We’re excited to share a new chapter in our journey: Women in Quantum Development is now We in Quantum Development (WIQD).
This name change is more than just a rebrand. It reflects how we’ve grown and where we’re going.
Why “We”?
When we started as Women in Quantum Development, our mission was clear: to connect and support women working in the quantum ecosystem. That mission remains at our core. But over time, we realised that there were other groups in quantum who were looking for the same kind of support and connection. So, we expanded our reach to include all of those who were looking for a place in quantum where they feel that they belong. The name ‘Women’ didn’t represent our community anymore.
The shift from Women to We is intentional. It signals a broader, bolder commitment:
To build a quantum ecosystem where everyone, regardless of gender, background, or discipline, can thrive.
We believe inclusion goes beyond gender and ‘We in Quantum Development’ want to create a space where everyone feels that they belong regardless of where they come from or who they are.
What Does This Mean for Our Community?
Our name may be different, but our purpose remains the same: to support the community, amplify voices and create a safe space in quantum where everyone feels that they belong.
As We in Quantum Development, we will continue to:
- Champion diversity, equity and inclusion in the quantum ecosystem
- Host events, workshops, and meetups that foster learning and connection
- Highlight underrepresented voices and stories in quantum
- Collaborate to shape a more inclusive future
What’s Next?
You’ll start to see our new name, look, and message across our channels, events, and communications. We’re also preparing new initiatives designed to reach more people, foster deeper collaboration, and drive lasting change. Stay tuned to learn more!
This rebrand marks a moment of reflection and momentum. We’re proud of where we’ve been, and even more excited about where we’re going.
